about

What do you get when you take a handful of Substation's top tracks from the past year and lend them to the hands and ears of some highly talented producers? The Remixes: Volume I - a first of many to come on the evermore popular Canadian label.

Volume I includes an eclectic mix of all things 4-to-the-floor, starting with a dark and raw techno remix from Krystle Love B of Sergio Levels' most popular track "Clue". Next up, a firey, hard, driving tech house banger from Rusty Meeks - apparently peak hour has arrived. Next, hot off their first Substation single "Eviction", MannMade Rhodes are back with a bouncey, bassy house jam, remixing "That Thang" by Isis Graham.. a perfect use of the catchy vocals but with a slight kick in the ass on the low end - this one is already in heavy rotation in Calgary DJs record boxes. Haakonsen is next up with a smooth summery anthem, remixing "Monochrome" by Isis Graham and Piper Davis - smooth as silk. Rounding off the release is Adamallday with a garagey breakbeat remix of Rusty Meeks' footwork track "Das Fuss" - certainly one to please the bass heads.
