Picking up right where we left off - The Remixes: Volume II once again showcases a crop of some of the most quickly rising producers emerging from the Canadian house and techno scene. Well respected veterans in their respective local DJ communities, their works on The Remixes: Volume II easily prove their worthiness on the global stage.
Pulsing at a furious pace - Western Canada's prince of techno Sergio Levels opens things up with a booming, highly percussive peak hour jam.. certainly one of the most energetic, stripped back Substation offerings to date.
Calming the storm, Isis Graham follows up with a gorgeous tribal-infused shuffle - melodic and brightly textured with tripped out vocals and disco style bassline. Fresh off a huge feature on Vice's "Thump", Isis proves she's certainly worth the hype.
Techno purists will be thrilled with the Marco Cardoza remix of "Das Fuss" - sampling the most dreamy vocal components from the footwork original and raining reverb rides all over a rumbling sub bass. Following big releases on Baroque Records and FootMusicRecords, Marco is certainly a producer worth keeping a close eye on in 2015.
Rounding out the release nicely - Audica's remix of "Clue" is a bassline house masher, one for the dirtybird fans. Bringing back the finer vocal and mid range elements from Sergio Levels' original version but with a thicker punch on the low end... Some of Audica's finest work to date.
